Let the short work day and the days off begin...

From now on I will be working 10-3 and I don't think I could be more excited. Not only that, but I had yesterday off. I had another midwife appointment and it was a crowded room. Nate and my mom have both come before, but yesterday mom and I had gone for lunch and shopping with Nana, so I brought her into the room too. She couldn't believe how much labour and pregnancy has changed since she last gave birth about 40 years ago. We realized that between my mom and Nana they had 13 babies between them... so I think I have good genes for this.

The highlight of my day though was when my mom picked me up and we went to Jysk to look for crib bedding. Couldn't find any sheets, but we picked out this really cute and super soft blanket to match the room. Then mom mentioned she needed some new shampoo from this spa in the area she always goes to. So we pull up and I say that I would prefer to sit in the car for a bit. She turns to me and says quite emphatically "NO!". She tried to explain that she wanted me to come in and help her, but by then I knew something was up. We get in there and she explains that she has purchased me a facial as they won't give a massage to a really pregnant woman for some reason..lol..but it was amazing. When I came out the chick at the counter said that mom had also purchased massage oil and I could pick a scent. What fun!

The rest of the day was spent doing basically nothing but a bit of laundry, some more shopping at Zellers for a new housecoat and finally a crib sheet. So all in all it was a pretty awesome day off - THANKS MOMMY!!!

AHH that's sweet that your Mom pampered you. So nice! You probably don't feel yourself right now so that sounds like a good pick me up.

The kids are fine. R. loves school and gym. N. is as cheeky as ever we saw a dietitian the other day and I am trying some new foods on her but she turns her nose up at most of them. I can't blame her for not liking butternut squash soup mixed with quinoa flakes but whatever ;)

It's good that you are trying to take a natural approach at childbirth but by all means keep your options open and don't feel guilty for anything. You never know what's gonna happen these babies have a mind of their own and sometimes you or baby needs help. I was terrified of the epidural both times but had no choice. Just remember if you are in so much pain you can't handle it the baby will sense that and be stressed so if you need some pain relieve it can be a benefit. It was also lucky that I had the epidural with R. because after 17 hours of induced labour I was only 1 cm - then his heart rate started to drop and if I hadn't of gotten the epidural they would have had to put me to sleep to preform the c-section in the record timing that they did it in. So always remember that these things are out of your control and hope for the best. Sounds like you have a few good veterans though on your side that have proven childbirth can go well in your family. :) I'm sure everything will be great though sounds like you are wellinformed and that you have a wonderful support system to help you make the right decisions. My thoughts are with you and can't wait to find out about baby Murray. Yahoo.

Thanks Erinne!! Don't worry, I have made the midwife aware that if I ask for drugs she better give them to me - or be prepared to suffer the consequences!!

Give your babies a hug from me and Nate.

Oh it's getting so close now! I remember when I dropped to the part days when I was pg with #2. It makes life so much easier as I found the longer my pg went the hard it was to sleep and then get up in the am. The extra time really helps.
