Guess My Weight

Ok, not my weight... because I don't wanna know what you think it is. This is a little game for you to guess Jericho's weight. Here is a recent picture. The last time he was weighed was January 4th and he was 12 lbs, 3 oz.

No guesses from my mom or Nate cause they know.

Baby's got a cold...

This morning we woke up and little man was totally stuffed up. His little nose is runny and he sneezes and coughs. Poor little guy. The best part was as he was sneezing and his nose was being gross and his eyes looked sooo sleepy, he just looked up at me and smiled as if it all didn't matter, as long as his Mommy was there. Awwwwww.

PS

A very happy 25th birthday to my younger brother Matt.

Mish Mash

For the past few weeks, Jericho has really gotten into a great night-time sleeping pattern. In the space of about 15 days there was only one night where he woke up more than once. And last night was the first night in a week where he woke up before 7am. I'm so proud. On average he sleeps from 11:30 to 7:30 am. One night he slept 9 hours and I was extra nice to him that day. It's amazing what an extra hour does for the attitude.

I had my Tupperware party last night!! Thanks to everyone who was able to make it. It was more fun than I thought it was going to be. We were all fairly certain Nate put some extra sugar in the juice as there was way too much funny business. But, we were able to get the January hostess special so Nate can organize our cupboards with Modular Mate overload.

Last night after the party we realized that in our rush to get everything done we failed to communicate some important things. I rarely if ever do the laundry all on my own. Usually it's Nate little weekly thing that he does for me. I know I'm lucky to have a husband like that... But yesterday I decided I would do as much of it as I could. I sorted, washed and had dried the darks and mediums. Nate had switched the whites. In getting ready for the party I just put the darks in the laundry basket in the bedroom instead of folding as we were running out of time. Nate saw the basket and I hadn't told him it was already done, and he was used to be not doing it. Long story short - we washed the darks twice. My jeans are really really stiff today. Oh well... J is up from his nap and Grandma is coming over soon so we can go shopping!! Whoo-hoo.

Busy Day

So Jericho had his first shower today - baby shower. This kid has so many cute clothes, he's going to be looking hotter than me. So not cool. Just kidding... He got a bunch of adorable overalls and jeans, a bunch of sweaters and some warm sleepers, a pair of swimming trunks, a jolly jumper, a crib mobile, a baby monitor, and a swing! Right now he's in his new swing and already trying to get out.. not a great sign. *sigh* But it was so much fun to have so many people oogling him and telling me how cute he is. Having a cute baby is really not what matters in life and CUTE can only take you so far...but it's still fun.

I'm completely tired from talking to everyone and stuff. I don't have the energy to upload pics from today, but here are some of J and his Daddy who he loves.

Tupperware Anyone?

I went to my friend Tahnee's Tupperware party today - I even convinced both of my boys to come with me! We had a great time on the 17th floor, it was really cool to see BC Place right out her window.

So... now I'm having my own party, the hostess special was really sweet. It will be this Wednesday, January 24th at 7 pm. Hope you all can make it!! Just post a comment if you want more info - or if you can come!

I'll have lots of pics tomorrow as Jericho's baby shower is tomorrow. We're really excited to see all the family and have some of them meet him for the very first time. Should be a blast.

I feel like a Gourmet Cook

I made an amazing dinner the other night. Nate had bought some cod fillets as we are trying to eat healthier meals. The issue is - he doesn't really like fish if it tastes like fish. It needs to have a sauce or a strong flavour for him to like it. So... I seared it in two cloves of garlic, some butter and a tablespoon of lemon juice. After each fillet was a little brown, I put them in the oven at 350F. I had put some wild rice on first as it takes FOREVER to cook, but is so much better for you then the white rice. Then I boiled some asparagus for 3 minutes then placed it on my stoneware with some butter, garlic, lemon juice, basil, & a 1/2 cup of freshly grated parmesean cheese. Then put it under the broiler. The last touch was some frozen corn - usually I cook it in my Pampered Chef steamer with water and garlic - this time I decided to go all out with my lemon theme and used lemon juice instead of water. Just a tablespoon - plus some basil.

All together everything was amazing. The lemon wasn't overwhelming, but it really popped in the corn (no pun intended!!). The asparagus wasn't truly healthy, but I would make it again - soooo good.

And the fish... not fishy at all.

Mr. Scott & Miss Tara Visit

Our friends were here for a bit on Sunday to hang out with me and J. They brought the cutest little teddy bear for him with his initial on it. Now, we don't let him play with it by himself, but he likes to cuddle it and slobber on it - so we indulge him a little. Mr. Scott held him for awhile and when he started to fuss I told him to try standing up. I was then referred to as "Baby Whisperer" as my boy then fell asleep quite happily. Scott - it's called being a Mommy.

10 Interesting Things About Me

1. I can't sleep if my feet are hot. Even in the winter I'll keep my feet out of the blankets. I hate socks. Just last month I was still wearing flip-flops.

2. I have something in common with Oprah, Julia Roberts, and Angelina in that I'm left-handed.

3. I spent my 15th Birthday in Bolivia. If you know anything about South America, they make a very big deal out of this milestone - which made it very special.

4. I was homeschooled until I was in grade 5, then I had a tutor until grade 10. I only spent 2 years in 'real' school and even then it was a private school.

5. I studied Latin for 2 years.

6. My dad is a twin who looks like him, talks like him and acts like him, but they have different blood types so are therefore fraternal.

7. I have a large red birthmark on my left knee which when I wear shorts most people confuse it for a bad burn.

8. I used to do an impersonation of Pavel Bure.

9. By the time I was 25 I had moved three times, but all three houses were within 5 km of each other. I am now living the furthest from home and it still is only about 10 minutes away.

10. My dad has 5 brothers and all of them have a first born child who is a son. My dad was the only one to have a daughter first. Now of all my cousins who have kids already - they have all had a daughter first and I am the only one to have a boy first.

A Reunion? Already?

Today we had a reunion for those who were in our prenatal class. It was so cute to line up the four babies - two girls and two boys. I'll post pictures later, but they were adorable.

Sienna was born October 13th and has a lot of hair!
Logan was born November 3rd and smiles soo much.
Jericho was born the day after, the 4th and was the cutest (of course..hehe)
Maya was born November 17th and is so tiny.

It was great to talk to all the moms and dads and see their cute babies. Interestingly, Jericho was the only one born naturally. All three other babies were C-sections. Logan because he was taking to long, Sienna was breached and Maya's mom had a scheduled C-section. And J was the second biggest baby. Only Logan was bigger, even though J was the third oldest. All in all it was fun, and I'm looking forward to getting together with the babies and their mom's again. I'm also going to try and get together with Tasia and Abby's moms as well. My new years resolution is to get out and do more.

Now, my baby hasn't eaten for 5 hours and he's been sleeping for almost 2 hours so I should wake him up and feed him.

4 Years...

Today marks 4 years since Nate and I decided to go out. Basically it took him three months and we were still just seeing each other - so we had the 'define the relationship' discussion. It was at Tim Hortons and we talked about different stuff - like how we both really liked blue and yellow.

A lot can happen in four years baby.

Remember that?

This was sometime this summer when my family got together for Christa's bday. Notice my brothers are very NUTS. I posted about this earlier, but now you get the full effect on VIDEO. You might think everyone involved is odd, don't worry - they're not...not really.

Jericho Update

My baby weighs 12lbs, 3 oz. He is bigger than 70% of the babies his age. Way to go man!! He is also celebrating being 2 months old today.

Just a side bar funny - Nate tried to do too many things at once while making his lunch and dumped a shot of espresso in his pasta. hahahahahahaha... Sorry babe!

My Year 2006

My friends have posted some reviews on their version of 2006. I decided to do the same. This year was amazing. It started with a long-anticipated trip to New York with my friends Rachael & Tahnee. It was four days of crazy, and I'm soo glad I was able to go. Bloomingdales is so cool. I also got my first Victoria's Secret credit card. Everyone needs their own souvenir.

That's when I told them that Nate and I were going to try and have a kid and had been trying for a few months. Within a month, that dream was on it's way to coming true. On February 28th I took a pregnancy test. Nate was in the living room as I came out with tears in my eyes. I had wanted to tell him in a cute and special way, but I couldn't keep it from him for one more second. We were overwhelmed, but so excited.

We then took steps to start looking for a home. It was a hard decision as we had made friends with our awesome landlords who we still have a special place for in our hearts. But it just got to the point where we wanted to be building equity for our future. It was a long couple months search, but what we finally settled on exceeded our expectations. We love our home.

We moved in July 3rd, two days after a most beautiful wedding brought together my brother and the girl of his dreams. It was fun to get a new sister, especially one who was so excited to become an aunt. It was one of the hottest days of the year, but it was pretty incredible to watch my brother say those vows to his wife.

It was around then I decided to throw a surprise party for my husband. Don't ever feel that you can't plan a big surprise when you're 6 months preggers. I even bought him an espresso machine that he constantly uses and is most likely one of the best presents I've ever got him. The party was a hit for him - our first real party in our new house.

Not too long afterwards I got a call at work from my sister Megan telling me that she also was pregnant. We did the math a realized that the 'cousins' would end up being 4 months apart! It is more fun to go through your pregnancy with a friend - it was just cool that it was my sister as well.

My last day of work was scheduled as October 20th. I only sort of made it as my boss cut my hours for me during the last couple weeks since I was getting so tired. But I did still make it in the end - technically. In the midst of the last few days though me and my three sisters worked on planning a 50th party for my mom. We invited her girlfriends and had our dad take her away and bring her back just in time to be SURPRISED! The best part was putting together her special scrapbook with notes from her friends and family. We put pictures and notes and fun stuff in it. She was pretty overwhelmed, but it was fun. All I really remember from the party was being exhausted. Turns out I had big plans the very next weekend...

Jericho was due to be born November 3rd. That was the day my water broke. He was born the next day at 5:00 pm exactly. He was perfect. Big, but perfect. I can't really describe what it was like to see him for the first time. I was fairly tired, but I just cried when he was flung into my arms. It's kinda surreal to be in that moment finally meeting this BEING who's been spending their life up to that point growing inside you. At the same time, you just LOVE them. He's my sweet baby.

So it's been a year of getting our first home, celebrating our second year of marriage, having the third Robinson sibling wedding in as many years, Hearing news of becoming an aunt, and meeting our son.

All in all I would say 2006 was a pretty kick butt year.

It's a good day...

This has been my favorite day of 2007 so far. We slept in, I delivered some Avon. Then Nate and I went to see the Pursuit of Happyness. So good. I cried, I smiled, I kissed my hubby in the theatre. It was good. We were able to have my mom babysit the baby which made it feel like a real date. We even got food at the concession! Then we picked up the boy and went for a walk on the dikes. In the distance we could see my brother and brother-in-law playing with their new snowmobile. No, there is no snow here - they like playing in the mud even at 24 years of age. So we walked down towards the house to say hi. Auntie Christa drove us back to our car as by then I had a blister. What a nice girl. Then we picked up Uncle Phil and are currently watching the hockey game as Nate cooks steak. YUM.

Told you it was a good day.

Happy New Year!

It's been a busy couple days! Jericho had an ear infection then as soon as the medicine was done he got really fussy. I took him to the clinic thinking he possibly had another ear infection. He was just so mad when he cried that we figured he was in pain. It was Dec. 27 and the clinic was sooo busy. The doctor checked him out and then called the pediatrician on call. We had to take J to the hospital to see her. It was a little stressful because my mind just raced with what could be wrong with him. We were at the hospital in emergency taking urine samples and blood tests and they sent us home. She said it may have been the ear infection medicine reacting with his little tummy, or he may be starting to get colic - but he has calmed down since. So all in all, a scary experience, but he's all good.

We had a great time on a quick trip up to Kamloops with my family. We left Thursday morning early and were up on Sun Peaks by 1 pm. Nate went with my siblings and Dad snowmobiling while Mom and I hung out at the 'chalet'. It was more like a cabin really. Then we went for dinner together and played games into the night - Ok, we went to bed at like 10. Jericho was so bad. He was up crying and hungry and just didn't like his brand new playpen. And we weren't really digging the air mattress. We got up early the next day and headed to Tankwa Lake for more snowmobiling. My dad and brother had each purchased one and they also rented one. We met my Uncle Frank and cousin Tylar up there. The guys had a lot of fun and Jericho even went with Daddy for a very short, very slow ride. We left and headed straight home as Nate didn't want to drive the #5 in the dark and he had to work Sunday. It was a short trip and we didn't really do much, but it was the first time baby had a bottle! My mom offered to buy us a breast pump and it was so awesome to be able to feed him in the car on the way up without having to stop the whole caravan. Jericho took to it within seconds.

Last night we went to D & R's and it was great. We played Disney's Scene It with the kids, poker with the adults (Nate & I cleaned house!), and watched the NYC ball drop. Here's some pictures of J having fun too.
