Midwife Appt Update

Yes I had an appointment yesterday and after much poking around it was decided that the baby's head is about 1/5 engaged..so Murray hasn't completely dropped yet, but it's getting close. Then we read the heartbeat and it was all over the place - which they say is good as it was responding to all the poking, etc. And the baby is in the perfect position and moving alot so it's all looking good. Yesterday was 8 months so only a month until the due date - wow! Time sure does fly when you're getting big for baby!

I think boy but early (within a week early). I'm so excited for you whatever you have. Can't wait to see your beautiful babe!

Whatever you do, don't let murray decide to be 3 weeks overdue like Gorilla! Pregnancy is long enough :-) You look great though, relax, enjoy the last month and I'm hoping your braxton hicks aren't too bad yet!!! And if you are late, my advice is scrub the floor... my midwife told me that is a good way to get labor started. There are other ways but they are not postable

I get the feeling Murray wants out. The Braxton's are getting so I can really feel them. Nate would love that someone suggested scrubbing the floor.

I'll post it if Magnificent M is too shy:) Have sex. Lots of sex. There are lots of reasons why it helps but I won't get into them. Oops. Forgot you family reads this. They know that's how all this got started anyway.

Murray's head is ENGAGED? I don't even have a boyfriend!!!

Murray is just quick, ok. Not being born doesn't stop him. I think he/she should get engaged to Pastor Mike's baby...unless that doesn't logistically work out.

Wahoo! 1 more month...I keep checking on you to see how you and the babe is doing, and I'll keep checking to see what you have, and the name and whatever else goes with that special announcement and PICTURES! I hope things go speedily for you...was your mom early? "They" say your mom is a good example of what to expect...(I, however, was the youngest of 6 so my mom didn't exactly remember with all of us):)
BTW, You haven't switched to Beta so I can't identify myself properly...that's why it says anonymous:)

I've heard of too many people having issues with beta to switch... I don't mind anonymous postings once in awhile. I was the oldest of 5 and a week late...the next two kids were also late but not by much. My sister Nina was early by two days and the youngest was born on his due date.

Yes 4ever29 is correct... it sounds more fun than it is... if you are late and having to resort to various activities to get things going, sex is much less appealing. But hey, it still beats scrubbing the floor. The other options include: smelling lavender (much easier to do then sex or the floor), drinking some type of oil, think it was castor oil (this activity requires close proximity to a toilet and is a last resort!!!!! hideous! and not always effective), the last one is DEFINATLY not bloggable but if you are late, call me and I will tell you. I tried all of them, ALL of them, and only the last one actually worked. Yeesh, Gorilla was so late, I would have swung from a trapeeze if someone said it was effective!!! just avoid induction drugs/gels and other man made resorts at all costs - they are even less fun than scrubbing the floor while 9 1/2 months pregnant.

I think you are having a boy and that he will weigh like 7 pounds 10 ounces. I was lucky and had R. 2 weeks early and N. 3 weeks early. Ha felt nice. Was curious as to what their actual days were gonna be as both babies were taken out rather than just coming on their own. I also had braxton hicks so bad it felt like my stomach was in a vice. Unfortunately they don't mean much.

I am surprised that you are using a midwife!! That's interesting, it wasnt' even an option for me as you probably know so I can't even imagine! Are you having the baby at the hospital?

I hope that these last few weeks are somewhat restful for you. Take the time to do something just you and Nathan and remember that pregnancy doesn't last forever although at this point it probably feels like it.

Hey Erinne - yes I'm doing the midwife thing, but the baby will be born at the hospital. The reason I went with her is because they believe in as little intervention (ie. inducing, epidural) as possible. And mostly because they will be there with me the whole time up until the baby is a couple hours old. Then the will continue to do postpartum appointments to make sure everything is going well with breastfeeding, etc. How are R & N??
