I made a list yesterday of stuff I want to get down in the next little while. It's too long. I have yet to venture out of the house with Jericho on my own to do errands. Mostly because we're down to one vehicle so that makes it difficult.. but also I find myself getting so tired. Last night I was up with J for almost 3 hours and I just wanted to crash.
Just the thought of those things I want to get done overwhelm me. I want to get my Christmas shopping done, portraits taken, portraits mailed, doctor appointments made, etc. I think I just had a baby at a very bad time of year. Then I have three baby showers in there somewhere, which is amazing... but scheduling in December is a nightmare. My aunts already gave up and moved the family one into January.
I think I really just need a nap, and maybe eventually I can get going on my social life again. I also feel like DAY 3 all over again. The third day after Jericho was born I spent about 3/4 of the day crying, I'm not doing that... but I just feel emotional. Again, it's most likely the lack of sleeping.
Oh and E - I will take time and hold my baby lots!

Yes know that feeling well, each day try and accomplish one thing, God created this little one for you and that's His priority for you right now... so try not to be hard on yourself when have you ever done this before? your doing a great job!!! Hope that doesn't sound preachy..your mom..who struggles with the same feelings.
Lack of sleep was the hardest thing for me with my 3 babies. Get as much sleep in the day as you can when he is sleeping. I think all of us mothers go through some type of emotional ride after just having a baby. Don't worry Jericho will eventually get into a sleeping pattern and all will be well. You keep up the good work and don't worry about that the little things!
As far as Christmas shopping goes, this year I have decided to not go into any store for my shopping. You could try that. Ebay is amazing and so are other stores online. Sears catalogue can be ordered online too. Just a thought to ease some of your holiday burden :)
Also, if you need to cry, then cry. If you need help, ASK FOR IT! We all love you and most of us have been there at some point and want to help.
Feeling overwhelmed is part of the deal I think. While you are in love with your little guy there is just so much other stuff that needs to be done and he wants to be fed so much and cuddled and changed and...Just know that it goes by so quickly so just gaze at him and love him and hold him. Soon he will be 7 and you will wonder where your baby went. When I see how big #3 is already next to Jericho I almost cry. And for what's it's worth some days are still overwhelming. I'm just thankful I have a God, family and friends who love me and help me make it through.
PS: I'm with R - order your gifts online and stay out of the stores. That's my plan (some of it with the help of Avon!! LOL)
Been there lots. You are human. The little man came at the time God meant for him to come. Go ahead and cry, mourn the loss of being able to do what you want and then move on - until the feeling hits again.
Being housebound and feeling overwhelmed with a list makes it hard too. Figure out what you need to do to make you feel better. Do you need to go for a walk by yourself? Do you need permission to go to bed, sleep, order in, eat in bed, snuggle your baby and Nate in bed, sit there all day and just re-coop? There are STILL days I'd love to be able to do that! That would be my dream. Yup, just the freedom to not do anything. And then maybe the day will be more sunshiney the next day.
Sometimes being a mom is very lonely and your body just went through some major changes. It takes time for all those hormones to settle down.
Like Rachael said, call if you need anything : )

Forgot to mention - sometimes it's nice to find one of those on-line groups with women who had babies at the same time. All of us are at different stages, but those women are going through the same stuff - at the same time so it's a nice network.

He's definately a keeper. Very cute boy. I agree with everyone here...if the the need arises...cry and/or ask for help...(sorry that I'm not anywhere around there to help but I could pray from over here) Just don't give up. Look at how much you do in a day...feed, change, play, sleep (repeat) so don't feel like your not doing anything:)
I miss you - and I need to see little Jericho! LOVE the pictures of him - I will travel to Baby Gap one of these days to get him a belated Birthday prezzie! I love you and you are doing so well - and dont worry about that to do list - I know the feeling and every time I have it I ask God to take that to do list from me and just help me that day. (and it works!) I will see you soon - maybe with a fresh baked batch of cookies too :) XOXO ~ Nicole
